Project Manager — 603 Basement Solutions
603 Basement Solutions is looking for a highly organized, people-oriented Project Manager to help manage construction projects from scheduling through completion.
This is a heavily customer-facing role. You will be communicating with homeowners, coordinating contractors, solving scheduling and project issues, ordering materials, handling permits, and making sure projects continue moving toward completion.
This is not a position for someone who wants to sit quietly behind a computer all day. You will spend a significant amount of your day communicating with customers, contractors, vendors, and members of our internal team.
What We’re Looking For
Excellent people skills are an absolute must.
You will regularly speak with customers who have questions, concerns, scheduling issues, or problems that need to be resolved. You need to be comfortable communicating clearly, professionally, and confidently.
You must also be able to speak construction.
You do not necessarily need to know every aspect of basement construction on day one, but you must have enough construction knowledge to communicate effectively with contractors, understand jobsite terminology, ask intelligent questions, and determine what needs to happen next on a project.
You should be someone who naturally takes ownership of problems rather than simply passing them along to someone else.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will likely include:
- Answering phone calls from customers regarding existing projects.
- Answering customer questions and providing project updates.
- Scheduling jobs and coordinating project timelines.
- Scheduling subcontractors and contractors.
- Managing contractors and holding them accountable for schedules, communication, and completion.
- Finding replacement or additional contractors when necessary.
- Applying for and managing construction permits.
- Ordering materials and coordinating deliveries.
- Communicating with suppliers and vendors.
- Gathering information from installers, contractors, salespeople, office staff, and other team members to determine the current status of projects.
- Identifying what is preventing a project from being completed and figuring out how to get it across the finish line.
- Handling customer concerns and helping resolve problems quickly.
- Keeping customers informed when schedules or project conditions change.
- Making sure outstanding tasks, materials, inspections, permits, and contractor responsibilities do not fall through the cracks.
Phone Availability
Our phone system will include a direct option for customers to reach you.
Answering phone calls during business hours is a core requirement of this position.
Except when you are:
- On another phone call
- At lunch
- Otherwise actively handling something that makes answering impossible
…you are expected to answer incoming calls.
Being accessible and responsive to customers is a major part of this role.
The Right Person
You will probably be a strong fit if you:
- Are extremely comfortable talking to people.
- Can remain calm when customers are frustrated.
- Have construction experience or substantial construction knowledge.
- Are highly organized and good at managing many moving pieces at once.
- Are persistent about following up with people.
- Are comfortable holding contractors accountable.
- Are good at getting information out of people when the status of something is unclear.
- Can make decisions without needing constant direction.
- Enjoy solving problems.
- Take personal ownership of getting projects completed.
- Are comfortable using phones, email, scheduling systems, and project-management software.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Understand that a customer should never have to repeatedly chase us to find out what is happening with their project.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Project Manager at 603 Basement Solutions keeps projects moving.
Customers know what is happening.
Contractors know where they need to be and when.
Materials arrive when they are needed.
Permits and inspections are handled.
Problems are identified early.
Loose ends are followed up on.
And when a project gets stuck, you take ownership of figuring out why it is stuck and what needs to happen to get it completed.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
