Job Overview
KW Mechanical is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join our team. This person must be able to work efficiently, with attention to detail.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to accurately perform pipe routing lay-out measurements derived from drawings, P&IDs, and field generated measurements including material take-offs and cut lengths from the field.
- Ability to assemble and install pipe hangers.
- Utilize port-a-bands and grinders.
- End prep bevels on carbon and stainless steel piping with end grinder hand tools.
- Perform/assist with fit-up of butt weld and socket weld pipe fittings.
- Utilize threading machine to thread cut pipe.
- Utilize grooving machine to groove cut pipe.
- Perform/assist with assembly and installation of pipe, connecting valves, instrumentations, setting tanks/equipment, and pressure testing finished work.
- Perform/assist with small rigging activities for pipe and equipment.
- Interpret plan view drawings, elevation view drawings, piping isometric drawings, and Process and Instrument Diagrams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Driver's License with clean driving record (Required).
- Experience working with both carbon, stainless-steel, copper, PVC, and CPVC piping.
- Ability to read a tape measure, using inches down to 1/16".
- Ability to pass criminal background check and motor vehicle check.

- Ability to thoroughly follow orders and instructions from the field foremen.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb, walk, reach, and grasp for prolonged periods at a time.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work from various heights.
- Ability to comfortably list up to 50lbs.
- Ability to pass a basic mechanical aptitude test.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
- Work well independently or as part of a team.
- Punctual, organized, and maintain positive mindset.
- Abide by all company safety and QA/QC procedures.
Education/Training/Licenses/Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in pipefitting, preferably in Commercial/Industrial environments.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certified a PLUS.
Wages are competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
