About Us
CDG Maui is a design-build construction company building high-end custom homes on Maui. We plan carefully, build it right, and own the outcome. We're growing and building a team where everyone knows their role and has the support to do it well.
The Opportunity
You'll own your jobs end to end, from contract handoff through closeout: on budget, on schedule, built from a coordinated plan, and with a client who would hire us again. You understand what the field needs and when, so crews never wait on the office. You plan thoroughly before we build, so the field works with little or no rework. You'll report to our Senior PM / Team Lead and work closely with our architect, superintendents and trade partners.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Run several high-end custom home projects at once, independently
- Own the client relationship and contract, including regular owner (OAC) meetings and selections tracking
- Turn the approved estimate into the job budget; keep the monthly cost-to-complete forecast current in Buildertrend
- Buy out each job with qualified subs under our Master Subcontract Agreement
- Collect shop drawings and get them to our architect so every job is built from a coordinated plan set
- Build and own a realistic master schedule in Buildertrend, sequenced with trades, inspections and long-lead items, and keep it current every week
- Review the superintendent’s look-ahead weekly and stay ahead of it: request inspections, order materials and issue subcontracts and POs before the work is needed
- Get a signed change order before any changed work starts; manage RFIs to closure
- Lead final walkthroughs and deliver a complete closeout package
- Strong scheduler who understands what the field needs and stays ahead of it: inspections, materials, and subs under contract with POs before the work is needed

- Strong cost control: budgets, forecasts and change orders
- Reads plans and specs; catches conflicts before they reach the field
- Clear, calm communicator with high-end clients

Application Question(s):
- Tell me about your background in construction. How many years have you been managing projects, what types of projects have you worked on, and what’s the largest project you’ve been responsible for from start to finish?
- What’s your connection to Maui? Are you currently living here, or would you be willing to relocate and work both in the office and on-site?
- Walk me through a project you managed that came in on budget and on schedule. What was the original budget versus the final cost, and how did the actual completion date compare to the original schedule? More importantly, what did you do to keep things on track?
- When you’re starting a new custom home project, how do you approach building your construction schedule? What are the first things you look at, and how do you make sure your superintendent and subcontractors have what they need before they need it?
- Tell me about a time a subcontractor didn’t perform as expected, whether it was scheduling, quality, or working outside their scope. How did you handle it, and what was the outcome?
