Experienced HVAC Service Technician

Quality HVAC Solutions | Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana

Quality HVAC Solutions is looking for an experienced, dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with the ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with customers, and can mentor less-experienced technicians.

We offer year-round work, a comprehensive benefits package, and a company-provided service vehicle that technicians can take home. This allows our technicians to minimize unnecessary trips to the office and respond to customers more efficiently.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues.
Inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient, and proper operation.
Replace defective components and perform necessary repairs.
Accurately identify the root cause of equipment failures rather than simply replacing parts.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe working conditions.
Complete accurate service reports and document all findings and repairs.
Mentor and assist junior technicians when needed.
Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment and repair procedures.
Follow company procedures and manufacturer specifications.
Maintain a low callback rate by performing repairs correctly the first time.
Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and management.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of residential HVAC service experience required.
Strong understanding of HVAC electrical systems, controls, airflow, and refrigeration.
Experience troubleshooting furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment.
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently.
EPA Section 608 certification required.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Commercial HVAC experience is a plus.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation when required.

What We Offer

Consistent, year-round employment.
Competitive compensation based on experience and technical ability.
Comprehensive benefits package.
Company-provided service vehicle with take-home privileges.
Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Supportive management and an experienced team.
A steady mix of residential and commercial service work.

Our Expectations

At Quality HVAC Solutions, we value technicians who take ownership of their work. We expect our team members to diagnose problems accurately, complete repairs safely, maintain professional standards, and minimize unnecessary callbacks.

We are looking for a technician who can work independently, solve problems, and contribute to the continued growth of our company.
