Residential HVAC Service Technician
Lantz Home Services | Austin Area
Full-time | Performance-based pay
You found the real problem. You explained it clearly. The homeowner asked for your card so they could request you next time.
That’s the service technician we’re looking for.
At Lantz Home Services, we want an experienced HVAC technician who takes pride in the diagnosis and the customer experience. Someone who can handle a service call, explain the options, and stand behind the work.
If you know your trade and want your results to affect your earnings, we want to meet you.
Picture yourself on the next service call
The house is warm. The system is running, but it isn’t keeping up. The homeowner wants answers.
You listen, take measurements, and work through the problem. You check airflow and system operation before deciding what needs to be repaired. You explain what you found in plain English and present practical options with clear prices.
Once the customer approves the work, you complete the repair, verify operation, and show them the results. You leave the work area clean and the homeowner knowing what was done.
That’s a call you can be proud of.
You’ll fit here if
You have residential HVAC service experience and can troubleshoot independently.
You use measurements to support your diagnosis and verify your repairs.
You present yourself professionally and communicate clearly with homeowners.
You’re comfortable discussing prices, presenting options, and asking for approval.
You’re motivated by performance pay and take ownership of your results.
You own mistakes, ask for help when needed, and learn from the people around you.
The work
Diagnose and repair residential air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and related controls.
Check airflow, electrical operation, refrigerant performance, and condensate drainage as the call requires.
Perform maintenance and explain findings with photos, readings, and clear job notes.
Present repair and improvement options based on the condition of the system and the homeowner’s needs.
Recognize replacement opportunities and coordinate with the comfort advisor when appropriate.
Follow safe work practices, protect the home, and verify operation before leaving.
Experience with all manufacturers, inverter equipment, communicating controls, ductwork, and ServiceTitan is a plus.

Let’s talk about performance pay
This role is for a technician who wants a direct connection between contribution and compensation.
You need to be comfortable explaining the value of your work and earning the customer’s approval. Your recommendations should come from your findings and the homeowner’s needs.
Quality work and customer trust matter just as much as production. We want repairs that hold up and customers who call us again.
We’ll walk through the performance pay plan during the interview so you understand how earnings are calculated and can evaluate the opportunity clearly.
Why Lantz
