Structural Repair Foreman / Lead Carpenter

603 Basement Solutions • Full-time • East Kingston, New Hampshire, United States • $30 - $50 / hour • 2w ago

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on foreman to lead a crew performing structural repairs on existing homes. This position requires strong carpentry skills, experience replacing damaged load-bearing framing, and the attention to detail needed to restore siding, trim, and weatherproofing after the structural work is complete.

This position includes a highly lucrative bonus structure for On-Time completions and Happy customers.

Required skills and experience:

Structural framing repairs and replacement: Proven experience replacing rotted sills and sill beams, replacing main support beams, sistering floor joists, and replacing complete floor systems—including beams, joists, and plywood subflooring. Must be comfortable working with existing structures, identifying deterioration, and recognizing when concealed damage requires a revised repair plan.
Temporary support and safe repair sequencing: Experience with the temporary shoring and support needed during structural repairs. Must understand load-bearing framing and how to follow repair plans and engineering specifications while keeping the structure properly supported throughout the work.
Careful siding and trim removal and reinstallation: Ability to remove, protect, and reinstall existing siding and exterior trim without unnecessary damage. Finished work should match the home’s original appearance, including alignment, spacing, and detailing—not look like an obvious patch.
Proper flashing and exterior weatherproofing: Working knowledge of housewrap, weather barriers, flashing tapes, sealants, and their correct application. Must know how to tie repaired areas back into the home’s existing water-management system so the work sheds water properly and does not create new leak points.
Hands-on crew leadership and quality control: Ability to lay out the work, direct a crew, plan materials and tools, maintain a safe and organized jobsite, and inspect the finished repair. We need someone who leads by example and takes responsibility for both the structural work and the finished appearance.

The standard we’re looking for

You don’t just know how to replace a beam—you know how to complete the entire repair, from opening up the house and supporting the structure to restoring the siding and weatherproofing correctly.
