Summary
This position will report to the Operations Department of Buckner HeavyLift. This would be considered an entry-level Crane Operator role with a chance for growth and advancement. The purpose of this role is to focus on physical operation of Telescopic and Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes up to 440 tons. Job duties include but are not limited to the following items below:
Crane Operator Technical Functions
- Operator is fully proficient with running Crawler Cranes up to 440 tons.
- Comply with all Buckner Safety Policies as well as ASME/ ANSI and OSHA regulations regarding crane operation.
- Certified by NCCCO and qualified by Buckner to be knowledgeable and proficient on their assigned crane
- Has authority to stop operations if unsafe conditions exist.
- Complete and submit all required inspection forms, tickets and payroll information on a timely basis. Document setbacks or delays on tickets
- Communicate daily with operator manager about job progress and schedule for upcoming projects.
- Qualified for Crane configuration, as well as, the hoisting activities for assigned work.
Crane Operator Maintenance Functions
- Required to report all incidents or "close calls" to supervisor and Safety Department
- Keep crane clean to project best company image.
- Perform basic daily maintenance to include cleaning, lubrication, and rope maintenance.
- Has intimate knowledge of the machine including pending repair requests.
- Make minor repairs.
- Inspect ground/set up conditions and report to equipment manager, project manager or safety manager if there is a problem. Do not move or set up if questionable conditions exist.
Crane Operator Professional Functions
- Communicate clearly and professionally when necessary
- Authorized to be firm and decisive when decisions need to be made regarding crane movement and performance but required to be polite and understanding when dealing with co-workers or rental clients.
- Fully and neatly complete crane reports, specifically document, in detail, conditions, events, conversations, etc. which protect Buckner’s interests. Must turn this in daily.

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
- Experience with operating Crawler Cranes up to 440 tons
- Must be able to work in the United States
