Residential HVAC Service Technician Cypress and Greater Houston Area
Unity Services is seeking a Registered HVAC Technician with 3 to 5 years of residential heating and cooling experience to join our growing team in Cypress, TX. This is a full time position with a stable schedule and opportunity for advancement.
The Service Technician earns $28 to $30 per hour base plus performance bonuses. Responsibilities include performing dispatched service calls, assisting with installations, and supporting both office and field operations as part of a coordinated team. Responsibilities
- Perform dispatched residential service calls, diagnostics, and repairs on air conditioning, heat pump, and furnace systems
- Read and interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately troubleshoot system issues
- Assist with residential HVAC installations as scheduled Conduct routine maintenance using the company's tiered checklist process, including filter replacements, system calibrations, and component inspections
- Diagnose and repair refrigerant, electrical, and mechanical issues on residential split systems and package units
- Communicate clearly with homeowners about system issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations
- Maintain detailed service reports, logs, and documentation in the company's system for every service call Keep assigned company truck stocked, clean, and inventory accurate
- Coordinate with office and dispatch to ensure efficient daily operations
- Represent Unity Services with professionalism, workmanship, and a customer first approach
Requirements
- Active TDLR Registered HVAC Technician License (verifiable through TDLR)
- 3 to 5 years of residential HVAC service experience
- EPA 608 certification
- Strong diagnostic skills on residential split systems, heat pumps, and package units
- Ability to read schematics, equipment manuals, and HVAC design plans
- Experience presenting repair and replacement options to homeowners
- High sense of integrity and accountability when working independently in customers' homes
- Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance and communication
- Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
- Personal set of hand tools
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, crawl spaces, and on rooftops
- Successful completion of a pre employment background check and drug screening, including a clean criminal record (required for entry into customers' homes)
