Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition by repairing, replacing, and refinishing damaged body parts. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle meets safety standards and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment using advanced tools and techniques
- Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and other welding methods to secure sheet metal components effectively
- Fabricate custom parts and modify existing components to meet specific repair needs using fabrication skills and hand tools
- Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying equipment to achieve smooth, professional finishes
- Replace and repair auto glass, ensuring proper sealing and safety standards are met
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly for mechanical issues related to body damage and collaborate with mechanics for vehicle maintenance or repair as needed
- Detail vehicles post-repair by cleaning, polishing, and ensuring all work meets quality standards before customer delivery
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or similar automotive repair background with a focus on auto body work
- Proficiency in MIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and the use of power tools and hand tools
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, auto restoration, and automotive repair processes
- Experience with auto painting techniques including airless paint spraying and auto finishing procedures
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Knowledge of auto glass replacement procedures and auto estimating processes is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repair work and timelines
