Position Overview:
Kansas Paving and Kansas Ready Mix are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, managing projects from start to finish, and coordinating with crews, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project completion.
The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt paving, concrete, or construction project management and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for paving and concrete projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
- Submit competitive and timely bids
Project Management
- Manage projects from award through completion
- Coordinate schedules, crews, equipment, and subcontractors
- Monitor budgets, costs, and project timelines
- Communicate with clients, inspectors, and internal teams
- Ensure projects meet safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction estimating or project management preferred
- Knowledge of asphalt paving, concrete, or site work a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office preferred
- Valid driver’s license
