Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Machinist to bring precision, skill, and craftsmanship to our machine shop. In this role, you will work independently and collaboratively to set up and operate manual machines, fabricate custom parts, and repair critical components for our packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual machine tools including Bridgeport mills, knee mills, metal lathes, drill presses, and sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Fabrication & Repair: Fabricate, modify, and repair machine parts and components using mechanics, shop math, metal properties, and standard machining procedures.
Blueprint Reading & Quality Control: Interpret technical blueprints and drawings; use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify parts against strict tolerances.
Maintenance & Support: Troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform rework on nonconforming parts, and execute routine preventative maintenance on machines and tooling.
Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, 5S-compliant workspace while following all safety standards and PPE requirements (face shields, gloves).

What We’re Looking For

Experience: Journeyman-level machining experience with strong hands-on expertise in manual equipment.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, shop math (fraction-to-decimal, 32nds/64ths/metric), and precision measurement tools.
Problem Solving: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair components.
Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, English fluency, ability to work on your feet for extended periods, and a high commitment to quality and safety.

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
