The Role

We need a lead carpenter who can run residential job sites from start to finish — someone who makes decisions, solves problems, and delivers quality work without constant supervision. You'll work directly with our field lead and owner, manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure every project meets our standards.

This isn't a babysitting gig. We need someone who shows up ready to work, takes pride in their craft, and can be trusted to do the job right.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead carpentry work on custom homes, renovations, and remodeling projects
Frame, trim, finish — the full scope of residential carpentry
Manage job site progress and keep projects moving on schedule
Coordinate with subcontractors and communicate with the project manager
Problem-solve in the field and make smart decisions without hand-holding
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Document daily progress with photos and updates

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

5+ years of residential carpentry experience (framing, finish work, renovations)
Proven ability to lead job sites and work independently
Strong problem-solving skills — you figure things out, you don't wait to be told
Reliable transportation and your own basic hand tools
Clean driving record and valid driver's license
Strong communication skills — you can talk to clients, subs, and the team professionally
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and handle the demands of the job

Big Pluses:

Experience with custom home builds and high-end renovations
Knowledge of Vermont building codes
Familiarity with project management software (we use Houzz Pro)
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
